a foggy morning - jessie wants to play - cosy lie in
chickens enjoying macaroni cheese - handsome wilson - new obsession
lancome goodies - walks in the woods - fresh eggs for breakfast
Thank you so much to those of you who noticed that there was no Friday Round Up last week and emailed to check on me :) There's nothing that cheers me up more than knowing there are people out there who read regularly and notice when something's not quite right
I've not been well for nearly a month now and blogging has definitely suffered. I've been so worn out that everything is a struggle, so anything that isn't absolutely essential has fallen by the wayside. My house is a mess, the dogs aren't getting out every day and just managing to get washed and dressed is an achievement most days. A couple of times I've thought I was feeling better, only to be back to square one the next morning. Yesterday was particularly bad but when I woke up this morning I felt cautiously optimistic that today was going to be ok
And it was. I made brunch for Matt and I - fresh local baps filled with crispy bacon, poached fresh-laid eggs and plenty of ketchup, washed down with a mug of tea for me and a huge latte for him. Then I drove into town and took my sister and nephew out to a local bistro for lunch. She's been ill for the last couple of weeks too and was dying to get out of the house, I think it did both of us good
Having been pretty much confined to the house for the past few weeks there has been little to report to be honest. I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired but I'm planning to book a couple of days away next month so that I've got something to look forward to. And I'm trying to be kind to myself - my skin has suffered terribly and dried up like an old fig so I treated myself to some lovely Lancome goodies which cheered me up a little. And I've been indulging in long lie-ins at the weekend with a good cup of tea (Matt is on cracking tea brewing form at the minute) and a long book. I've been re-reading old books - I find this a huge comfort in times of illness or an attack of the blues. Children's books are the best but I've also been working my way back through Jilly Cooper's Rutshire Chronicles which are my absolute favourite books ever and are never too far from my bedside
Matt's racing tomorrow so I will be meeting my friend Liz for coffee and a catch up, giving the dogs a long walk and attacking the housework. Fingers crossed, this weekend will mark an upturn in my health and normal blogging will resume soon :)
Have a lovely weekend everyone

DeleteAww, so sorry to hear that you've been feeling so crap for such a long time! Illness is no fun at the best of times, but when it drags out like that it's just a nightmare, glad to hear your other half has been looking after you well as most men don't seem to have the patience and get bored after a couple of days of illness! Ha.
ReplyDeleteI've got my fingers crossed that you'll be feeling back to your best in no time.
