A Visitor
We had a new bird come to visit the bird table this weekend that I thought you might like to see
Pheasants are a regular pain round here at this time of year, usually playing daredevils in the road. But I love to see them, they remind me of my gundog days and I love their beautiful, festive colouring. They're pretty tasty too! Ahem.
He hung around picking up seed and inadvertently frightened off all the chickens, before trooping off back to his own little hedgerow somewhere
A little splash of colour against the leaves, he really brightened my day

Pheasants are one of the things I miss about home, my folks live on the edge of a wood so they're everywhere and they can be such characters :-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Rachael!

Thanks! They are funny little things xx
DeleteMy mum has one that visits her back garden frequently. She puts cornflakes out for him and has named him 'George' after my grandad lol. I love your blog Rachel. Arrived here via Charlotte's Web. It makes great Sunday morning reading for me! Hugs xx

DeleteI love seeing pheasants, we have one that lives somewhere near the bottom of our garden haha. I love the noise they make (is it a caw? I'm not good at describing sounds haha)
